PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a fan driving device for a washing and drying machine which is capable of reducing energy consumption by using heat quantity generated in an electric machine for drying.
SOLUTION : The fan driving device for the washing and drying machine, includes the fan of the washing and drying machine and permanent magnet type rotary electric machine. Power from a single-phase power source is supplied from an inverter, so as to drive the permanent magnet type rotary electric machine. Concerning the permanent magnet type rotary electric machine, a stator, where the armature winding wire of concentrated winding is wound so as to enclose teeth inside a plurality of slots formed in a stator iron core, and an embedded magnet type rotator, where rare-earth permanent magnets are stored in a plurality of permanent magnet insertion holes formed in the rotator iron core, are freely roratably supported via a prescribed gap in the inner circumference of the stator. A metallic shaft is engaged with a shaft hole arranged at the center of the rotator iron core. A nonferrous metal fan is fixed to the end of the shaft. The heat quantity generated in the rotator iron core by the armature electric current of a distorted wave controlled and supplied by the inverter is transmitted to the fan.
