PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for producing metal powder for electrically conductive paste essentially consisting of nickel, to provide electrically conductive paste using the metal powder, and to provide multilayer ceramic electronic parts produced by using the electrically conductive paste and having a suitable yield. SOLUTION : A mixed solution of the salt of at least one kind of metal selected from the group consisting of rare earth metals, yttrium, zirconium, magnesium and manganese and a nickel salt is prepared. An alkaline reducing agent solution is prepared. The mixed solution and the reducing agent solution are mutually mixed, and a powdery mixture of nickel powder and the hydroxide of the above metal is precipitated.
