PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an optical amplifier having high central-wavelength accuracy by simple constitution and a stable optical-amplification gain. SOLUTION : A feedback loop generating internal oscillation among an optical multiplexer/demultiplexer 7 for an optical amplification section, a rare earth- added optical fiber 5, the optical multiplexer/demultiplexer 2 and optical couplers 3b, 3c is formed by using an output port, to which signal light is not assigned, in the output ports of the optical multiplxer/demultiplexer 2, and a gain is stabilized while an oscillation wavelength is monitored, and a central wavelength and the gain of the optical amplifier can be stabilized by keeping the oscillation wavelength constant. |
