PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare-earth magnet in which a separation of a protection layer is low, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION : The rare-earth magnet 1 comprises a magnet element assembly 2 containing at least a rare-earth element, inorganic particles 6 scattered on and adhered to a surface of this magnet element assembly 2, and a protection layer 4 formed so as to cover the inorganic particles 6 on the surface of this magnet element assembly 2. The rare-earth magnet 1 can be obtained by forming the protection layer 4 so that, after the magnet element assembly 2 is processed with a first processing agent containing metal ions and subsequently a second processing agent having a different pH from the first processing agent, the inorganic particles 6 separated thereby are covered.
