PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To further improve the coercive force Hcj of a rare earth sintered magnet containing Dy.
SOLUTION : When a rare earth alloy powder containing Dy is sintered to form the rare earth sintered magnet, heat treatment is carried out at a temperature 450°C-650°C after the sintering, and slow cooling is carried out at a cooling rate 0.1°C/minute-10°C/minute. The slow cooling is carried out to a temperature region lower than the temperature in the heat treatment by at least 150°C. The content of Dy is 0.5 mass%-35 mass%.
