PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide glass which satisfies the requirement as a substrate for a display and contains no arsenic oxide, and in which voids in the glass can be reduced. ŽSOLUTION : The glass substantially contains no arsenic oxide and alkali metal oxides, and contains 0.005-0.4 mass% of SnO2and 8-13.5 wt.% of alkaline earth metal oxides (MgO, CaO, SrO and BaO), and the expression of Ys≤0.13X-1 is satisfied, wherein the molar content of SnO2is Ys and the molar content of the alkaline earth metal oxides is X. The composition comprises 50-70% of SiO2, 10-19% of Al2O3, 5-15% of B2O3, 0-3% of MgO, 0-12% of CaO, 0-6% of SrO, 0-5% of BaO, 0-2% of ZnO, 0-1% of ZrO2, 0-5% of TiO2, 0-5% of P2O5and 0-5% of Sb2O3by mass.
