PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare-earth magnet which can be formed by a simple method and is provided with a protective layer capable of sufficiently suppressing the generation of rust of the rare-earth magnet.
SOLUTION : The rare-earth magnet 1 according to a preferable embodiment is provided with a magnet base 2 containing a rare earth element and metal elements other than the rare earth element; and the protective layer 4 formed on the surface of the magnet base 2 and containing inorganic elements and a compound of a metal element same as at least one kind of the metal elements contained in the magnet base.
