PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a granular preparation for controlling a Scarabaeidae insect pest, exhibiting high controlling effects by maintaining many spores of Bacillus popilliae having fatal activities on larvas of the Scarabaeidae insect pest, in an edible state in a soil for a long period; and to provide a method for producing the preparation, and a method for controlling the Scarabaeidae insect pest by using the preparation.
SOLUTION : The granular preparation for controlling the Scarabaeidae insect pest contains (1) the spore of the Bacillus popilliae, (2) a vegetable powder having properties for feeding and attracting the Scarabaeidae pest insects, and (3) at least one kind selected from the group consisting of waxes, oils and fats, oxidated product of the oils and fats, and ethylene oxide adducts thereof. The method for producing the preparation comprises kneading the components (1) to (3), granulating the kneaded product, and drying the granules at 40-80°C. The method for controlling the Scarabaeidae insect pest comprises homogeneously mixing the preparation with soil before and/or at the transplantation of crops, and spraying the mixed product at least at ≥10 cm depth from the surface of the earth.
