简介 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To obtain a new single crystal material for scintillator while suppressing phase transition in a process for carrying out solidification by cooling from melting point, in production of boric acid salt of rare earths containing Lu as a main component. SOLUTION : In production method for obtaining a crystal material for scintillator by melting, cooling and solidifying a mixture containing a Lu raw material and a raw material containing boron and oxygen, phase transition of the crystal material is suppressed by adding Sc thereto to provide the single crystal material for scintillator. Phase transition is suppressed while keeping radiation absorption ability and density in high level by adding Sc, etc., to boric acid salt of rare earths containing Lu as a main component.
