The die is obtained by introducing a reactive non-ferrous molten metal to a casting mold having a front layer area which contacts with the reactive non-ferrous molten metal charge, and a back-up layer area mechanically stabilizing the front layer area. The front layer area consists of rare earth oxide(s) and additional metal oxide(s). The additional metal oxide is chosen from oxide of titanium and nickel. The rare earth oxide is yttrium oxide. The weight ratio of rare earth oxide and additional metal oxide is 10 : 1. Independent claims are included for the following : (1) manufacture of die; and (2) use of casting mold. |
