PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a high-pressure discharge lamp having a color temperature necessary for image projection while considering environment.
SOLUTION : In this high-pressure discharge lamp, electrodes 151, 152 are disposed inside a discharge space 14 formed in quartz glass bulb 11 at a counter distance ≤3.0 mm. At least one kind of first halogen metal of Sc, Dy, Nd, In, and the other rare-earth metal, at least one kind of second halogen metal of Zn, Mn, Fe, and Al, and rare gas Xe ≥2 atmospheric pressure are sealed inside the discharge space 14. Thereby, the high-pressure discharge lamp driven without containing mercury, with input power ≥80 W, with a lamp voltage/an inter-electrode distance =10 V/mm or above is configured. Sealing weight ratios X (wt.%) of iodide metals of the first and second halogen metals satisfy relation 60 (wt.%)
