PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a low cost reliable optical fiber laser capable of conducting a high-power operation.
SOLUTION : The optical fiber laser 1 emits a laser beam 9 by introducing excitation light 3 for exciting a rare earth element to the optical fiber 2 with the rare earth element partially added. The optical fiber 2 of the laser 1 is wound around the periphery of a center core member 4, a flat surface 5 is formed by processing a part of the periphery of the wound fiber 2, one surface of a prism 6 is contacted to the surface 5, and the excitation light source 7 is applied to the other surface of the prism 6.
