PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a light source system for a display device, as well as a rare-gas fluorescent lamp used for it, used for a display device having a power-feeding terminal structure with a small non-light-emitting part, a large light-emitting area in comparison with a total lamp length, and high reliability, with the use of a rare-gas fluorescent lamp not containing mercury with an excellent insulating property between terminals.
SOLUTION : In the rare-gas fluorescent lamp provided with a straight-tube arc tube having a light-emitting layer on an inner face, a pair of strip external electrodes arranged separated from each other almost over a whole length of the arc tube on an outer periphery face of the arc tube, and terminals electrically connected to the external electrodes and led out of end parts of the external electrodes, each terminal is equipped with a folded part so as to impart the rare-gas fluorescent lamp with biasing force in a radial direction.
