PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a target for X-ray generation that is capable of generating longer-lasting and high-output X-rays, by improving a heat dissipation property on a target face against which electrons are collided even when a rare earth metal having a small thermal conductivity is used.SOLUTION : The target for X-ray generation is composed of a target body 2 in which lanthanum boride being a rare earth metal is used, and which is formed into a cylindrical shape with a prescribed outer diameter d1 and a prescribed thickness t1, and a covering member 3 in which a material having a thermal conductivity larger than that of a material of the target body 2, that is, the lanthanum boride is used and which covers the entire face of the target body 2.
