PURPOSE : A plasma display panel is provided to enhance bright room contract and color purity by adding transition metal oxide and a rare-earth oxide into a front substrate.
CONSTITUTION : Address electrodes(3) are formed on a rear substrate(1), and a first dielectric layer(5) is formed on a front surface of the rear substrate to cover the address electrodes. Display electrodes(13) are formed on one surface of a front substrate(11) in a direction crossing the address electrodes, and a second dielectric layer(15) is formed on a front surface of the front substrate to cover the display electrodes. At least one of the front substrate and second dielectric comprises transition metal oxide and a rare-earth oxide. The transition metal oxide is selected from a group of Co, Ni, Se, Fe, Mn, Cr, V and Sc. The rare-earth oxide is selected from a group of Pr, Nd, Sm, Dy and Ho.
