PURPOSE : A method of manufacturing a ceramic filter for drinking water filtration is provided to simplify the manufacturing process and increase the yield of the filter by manufacturing the filter through extruding molding and sintering.
CONSTITUTION : A method of manufacturing a ceramic filter for drinking water filtration comprises the steps of : adding methyl cellulose to 73 to 85 wt.%% of diatomaceous earth, 8 to 15 wt.%% of clay and 6 to 12 wt.%% of talc in an amount of 7 to 11 wt.%% based on the total weight of the diatomaceous earth, the clay and the talc, and primarily mixing the materials; adding an aqueous solution comprising 5 to 8 wt.%% of an organic lubricant, 1 to 3 wt.%% of a plasticizer and 50 to 60 wt.%% of water based on the total weight of the diatomaceous earth, the clay and the talc to a first mixture produced through the first mixing process, and aging the mixture; extrusion molding the mixture passing through the aging process into a tube shape; drying the molded article passing through the molding process at a temperature of 50 to 60 deg.C in a dryer; and sintering the dried molded article at 1100 to 1250 deg.C for 2 to 3 hours.
