PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a bismuth substituted rare earth iron garnet single crystal capable of decreasing a lead quantity of 0.1 wt.% included in it in an LPE method with the lead as a flux component, and to provide its crystal growth technology.
SOLUTION : The liquid epitaxial method using a melt comprising a flux component including a rare-earth oxide and a lead oxide can suppress the lead incorporation of the bismuth substituted rare earth iron garnet single crystal having a terbium as a main component grown in the melt of the lead oxide mol concentration of not less than 5% nor more than 13%.
