PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method to remove arsenic in water by adsorption method and to provide a method using a low-cost adsorbent having excellent adsorptivity for arsenic. SOLUTION : In the method to remove arsenic from water by bringing the water containing arsenic into contact with an adsorbent to make the arsenic adsorbed to the adsorbent, the adsorbent described below is used. The adsorbent used is prepared by depositing rare earth metal oxides or hydroxides by 5 to 60 wt.% on a &gamma -alumina carrier having >=150 m2/g surface area, >=0.55 cm3/g pore volume, 90 to 200 &angst average pore diameter, and pores having 90 to 200 &angst pre diameter possessing >=60% of the whole pore volume. |
