PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an output fall suppression method for an optical fiber for light amplification, with which increase of transmission loss is reduced and a laser output is prevented from falling, to provide a light amplification optical fiber processed by this method for output fall suppression, and also to provide an optical fiber amplifier and an optical fiber laser having such fiber as a light amplification optical fiber.
SOLUTION : The output fall suppression method for a light amplification optical fiber (the fiber) in which at least one kind of rare earth element is added to a core is characterized in that the fiber is preliminarily subjected either to a hydrogen adding process in which hydrogen is added to the core by leaving the fiber in an hydrogen atmosphere, or to the light irradiation process in which the core is irradiated with light having a wavelength absorbable by the rare earth ion added to the core of the fiber, with the remaining process subsequently applied thereto and, otherwise, in that both processes are simultaneously applied to the fiber.
