PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth magnet that can improve corrosion resistance. SOLUTION : A protective film 20 is a three-layer film including, in order of those closest to a magnet body 10, a protective film 20A having a crystal composition α (e.g., polycrystalline composition), a protective film 20B having a crystal composition β (e.g., columnar crystalline composition), and a protective film 20C having the crystal composition α. Since the protective film 20 has a different crystal composition between the adjacent protective films 20A and 20B, and a different crystal composition between equally adjacent protective films 20B and 20C, compactness is improved among respective layers of the protective films 20, which prevents a pin hole from being produced, thus inhibiting corrosion of the protective film 20.
