PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a high-pressure discharge lamp device excellent in electrical characteristics because a lamp voltage is enhanced in a mercury free high-pressure discharge lamp, a high-pressure discharge lamp lighting device using it, and a lighting system. SOLUTION : This high-pressure discharge lamp device including a translucent airtight vessel 1 having a discharge space 1c in its inside. a pair of electrodes 2, 2 sealed in the translucent airtight vessel so as to face the discharge space, a rare gas, and a metal halide is equipped with an arc tube IT having an ionization medium sealed in the airtight vessel essentially containing no mercury, and a magnetic field generating means MG to generate a dc magnetic field containing magnetic flux generated along a tube axis connecting between a pair of the electrodes of the arc tube.
