PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To prevent an occurrence of a disintegration of a complex and a yellowing of a binder member of a light emitting device with a rare-earth-element-ion complex and the binder member provided. SOLUTION : The light emitting device 1 comprises a light source 2 for emitting a light from a near-ultraviolet range to a visible light range, a red fluorescent material 3 comprising a rare-earth element ion complex, and a binder member 4 having at least one peak selected from a peak with a position of a peak top in a range of not less than -40 ppm nor more than 0 ppm chemical shift and with its peak half-value width not less than 0.5 ppm nor more than 3.0 ppm, and a peak with a position of a peak top in a range of not less than -80 ppm nor more than -40 ppm chemical shift and with its peak half-value width not less than 1.0 ppm nor more than 5.0 ppm in a solid-state Si-nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum (1); having a silicon rate of content of not less than 20 wt.% (2); and satisfying the condition not less than 10 nor more than 90 of the hardness value (Shore A) measured by the durometer type A (3).
