PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a technology to form a glass foamed body, which has open cells, by melting and fusing a powder material of a foaming material such as a vitreous material and Kanuma earth, while noticing that the Kanuma earth or the like adsorbs metals and pollutants. SOLUTION : The glass foamed body is formed by taking 50-80 pts.wt of a Kanuma earth powder and a red ball earth powder, and 10-20 pts.wt. of a foaming material powder based on 100 pts.wt. of a vitreous material powder and mixing them, and baking and foaming a mixture in a furnace at a temperature of 800-1, 100°C, then it is made a powdery or granular body.
