PURPOSE : A structure and a method which adjust pH of the muck pile and remove heavy metals from the muck pile and neutralize water of a mounding part by preventing acidification of the muck pile using slacked lime as a natural alkalinity agent when piling a muck pile containing pyrite, and block inflow of underground water or outflow of leachate and prevent environmental pollution due to acid mine drainage by installing an alkaline liner in a pyrite-piling part are provided.
CONSTITUTION : A structure for neutralization of water and stabilization of soil using an alkaline liner when piling a muck pile containing pyrite comprises : a culvert perforated pipe(1) installed in certain parts of a section in which a pyrite-muck pile is formed such that the culvert perforated pipe collects penetrated water; a pond and monitoring catchment well(2) installed at ends of both slopes of a pyrite mounding part; a mounding incline plane(3) formed by spreading earth and sand on the both slopes of the pyrite mounding part and hardening the earth and sand; a first neutralization layer installed under the pyrite mounding part; a second neutralization layer formed on an inner side of a side-piling part of the mounding incline plane; a pyrite-muck layer formed to a predetermined elevation on the pyrite mounting part; an alkaline liner(6) with a predetermined thickness laid down on an upper surface of the pyrite-muck layer; and a roadbed and pavement layer formed on an upper part of the alkaline liner.
