PURPOSE : An external electrode discharge lamp and a lamp apparatus thereof are provided to simplify a manufacturing process and enhance light emitting efficiency by modifying a structure thereof.
CONSTITUTION : An external electrode discharge lamp includes a glass tube(1) including rare gas and a pair of ribbon-shaped electrodes(2a, 2b) arranged on a surface of the glass tube. The pair of ribbon-shaped electrodes are disposed opposite to each other in parallel to an axial direction. A first feeding part including first electrodes is disposed at one side of the external electrode discharge lamp. A second feeding part including second electrodes facing the first electrodes is disposed at the other side of the external electrode discharge lamp.
