PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a a sealed nickel hydrogen battery which has high output density especially in an atmosphere of a low temperature and excellent cycle characteristics.
SOLUTION : The sealed nickel hydrogen battery is provided with a cathode of a nickel electrode and an anode of a hydrogen-absorbing electrode. A hydrogen absorbing alloy electrode is made of a conductive support carrying hydrogen absorbing alloy powder composed of a rare earth element and a non-rare earth metal element containing nickel, and the mass saturation magnetization of the hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is 2 to 6 emu/g and a carrying volume of the hydrogen absorbing alloy powder per unit area of the hydrogen-absorbing electrode is 0.06 to 0.15g/cm2.
