PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a sealed nickel hydrogen battery having high output characteristics while keeping high charge/discharge characteristics.
SOLUTION : The hydrogen storage electrode is formed with hydrogen storage alloy powder comprising a rare earth element and a metal element other than rare earth elements but including nickel, having specific equilibrium hydrogen dissociation pressure, specific mass saturation magnetization, and specific ratio of the rare earth element and the metal element other than the rare earth element. The sealed nickel hydrogen battery uses the hydrogen storage electrode, and is formed by welding a welding point on the inner surface of a sealing plate 0 and at least one welding point out of welding points of a lead 9 and an upper current collector 2 by passing current between a positive terminal and a negative terminal of the battery from an outside power source after sealing.
