PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for producing a rare earth alloy powder molding where the orientation degree of a powder molding is further increased, and the production of a permanent magnet provided with excellent magnetic properties is made possible.
SOLUTION : The method for producing a rare earth alloy powder molding comprises : a stage (a) where rare earth alloy powder is prepared; a stage (b) where, under a state in which a first positive magnetic field parallel to a prescribed direction and higher than the coercive force of the rare earth alloy powder is applied to the rare earth alloy powder, pressing is performed; a stage (c) where, after the rare earth alloy powder is pressed, and its relative density reaches the prescribed one, a first reverse magnetic field lower than the coercive force of the rare earth alloy powder is applied in a direction reverse to the prescribed direction for at least one time; and a stage (d) where, under a state in which a second positive magnetic field parallel to the prescribed direction and higher than the coercive force of the rare earth alloy powder is applied to the rare earth alloy powder obtained by the stage (c), pressing is performed.
