PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a ring-opening reaction catalyst for epoxy group, which is useful for the ring-opening reaction of epoxy group particularly with hydroxy group, and an epoxy group based adhesive composition obtained by using the catalyst. SOLUTION : The ring-opening reaction catalyst for epoxy group is composed of silica gel containing rare earth element ion in the molecule and substantially no alkali metal ion and the epoxy based adhesive composition consists essentially of a combination of a compound having at least two epoxy groups in the molecule, a compound at least two functional groups each having active hydrogen in the molecule and the ring-opening catalyst for epoxy group. |
