PURPOSE : Provided is a light emitting device, which use a rare earth metal complex having excellent solubility to a solvent and resin dispersibility and high luminance intensity, and thus shows high luminance intensity and improved lifespan.
CONSTITUTION : The light emitting device comprises : a light emitting section; and a light emitting medium containing a rare earth metal complex including a compound represented by the following formula 1 as a ligand. In the formula 1, X and Y are the same or different, each being selected from the group consisting of O, S and Se; each of R1-R4 is independently selected from the group consisting of substituted or non-substituted C20 or lower linear or branched alkyl or alkoxy, phenyl, biphenyl, naphthyl and heterocyclic group, with the proviso that R1-R4 cannot represent the same group simultaneously; n is an integer of 2-20; and Z and W are the same or different, each being selected from the group consisting of H, D, halogen atoms and alkyl groups.
