PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for cutting a rare earth alloy powder molding capable of efficiently cutting the molding without degrading cutting efficiency due to clogging and without breaking the molding.
SOLUTION : Raw material alloy powder including rare earth elements is molded and when cutting the thus formed molding into a prescribed shape, cutting is performed by using a wire saw. In cutting, molding strength and wire tension are maintained at an appropriate relation. More specifically, the deflective strength of the molding is specified to 0.4 to 1.3 MPa and the wire tension of the wire saw is specified to 580 to 1, 770 N/mm2.
