PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To attain the swift filling of a powder into die cavities by making the fluidity of the powder satisfactory.
SOLUTION : In the method and device for filling a powder, a gas is introduced into a powder (a raw material powder of a rare earth magnet 4) to be fed inside a feeder 3, and the powder in the feeder 3 is filled into the cavities 2 of a die 1. The gas is jetted toward the direction upper than the horizontal direction. In this case, the jetting directions of the gas (the opening directions of gas introducing ports 6d) preferably make an angle of ≥10° to the horizontal direction, and, more preferably, a part of the jetting directions of the gas makes an angle of 10 to 80° to the horizontal direction.
