PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To efficiently remove dissolved boron from boron-containing water using oxide hydrate of a rare earth element which is an inorganic adsorbent.
SOLUTION : In a method for treating the boron-containing water by bringing the dissolved-boron-containing water into contact with the oxide hydrate of the rare earth element to adsorb the dissolved boron to the oxide hydrate of the rare earth element, the boron-containing water is brought into contact with the oxide hydrate of the rare earth element under coexistence with a substance having an anionic-exchange function. The substance with the anionic-exchange function draws boron ions and performs a part of collecting the boron ions around the oxide hydrate of the rare earth element.
