PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To efficiently classifying water content ratio of earth/sand mixed waste without generating a malodorous or harmful gas in a work of digging up and classifying waste for extending the life of a waste disposal site.
SOLUTION : The classification treatment method involves the steps of decreasing the water content ratio of earth/sand mixed waste 11a dug out of a waste disposal site by adding a proper amount of a water-absorptive porous ceramic powder 14 selected from residues of paper manufacturing sludge combustion, residues of fired paper manufacturing sludge combustion, and residues of paper manufacturing sludge combustion mixed with an auxiliary material without causing firm agglomeration by hydration and the classifying earth/sand mixed waste 11a.
