PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a flashing discharge lamp that has a high radiation efficiency related to ultraviolet light at a specific wavelength region and a sufficient usage lifetime, and to provide a photoirradiation apparatus.SOLUTION : The flashing discharge lamp has an arc tube made of light-transmitting ceramics to which rare gas is sealed inside while a pair of electrodes is arranged opposingly, and a water-cooling mechanism for cooling the outer surface of the arc tube. In the flashing discharge lamp, the sealing pressure of the rare gas is 40-360 kPa in terms of static pressure, and lighting is made under conditions where peak current density is set so that the radiation efficiency of ultraviolet light having a wavelength of 200-300 nm reaches 5% or higher.COPYRIGHT : (C)2006, JPO&NCIPI |
