PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a water glass vehicle composition modified with a quaternary ammonium zirconia complex compound, containing a titanium compound with a photo-oxidation degradable function, silver with an antifungal property, copper, chromium, nickel, tungsten, molybdenum and a rare earth metal ion, which is different from conventional organic and water glass vehicles, cures at room temperature and forms a water-durable and stable coated film, and a paint or coating agent using the same.
SOLUTION : A silica-titania solution vehicle composition modified with the quaternary ammonium zirconia complex compound is prepared by adding and reacting with stirring a zirconyl salt aqueous solution and a titanyl salt to an amorphous silica solution to which a quaternary ammonium water glass or a quaternary ammonium salt has been added. The inorganic paint or coating agent is prepared by adding ultra-fine titanium oxide particles, titanium hydroxide, metallic ions such as silver, copper and the like, and a pigment to the above composition.
