PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a glow plug to dissolve a problem on adhesion of carbon, detect an ion current with high precision, prevent the damage of an electrode for detecting ion, and have excellent durability. SOLUTION : A body 10 comprises an insulation body 11; an energising heat generating body 2 and a pair of lead wires 21 and 22 arranged at the internal part thereof; and an electrode 3 for detecting ion. The electrode 3 for detecting ion has an exposure part 30 making contact with at least flame and formed of a conductive mixture sintering body formed such that an insulation ceramic particle is wrapped with a conductive ceramic particle, and consists of one or more kinds of oxides of a rare earth element serving as a sintering aid. The texture of a mixing sintered substance consists of a first crystal phase and a grain boundary phase therebetween. A part or a whole of the grain boundary phase is crystallized to produce a second crystal phase containing the sintering aid. |
