PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a composition for use in resin-bonded type magnets which contains a magnetic powder, a thermosetting resin binder and an organic peroxide, and which has the industrially excellent pot life and curing characteristics and to provide a manufacturing method capable of producing efficiently a resin-bonded type magnet excellent in the magnetic characteristics, mechanical strengths, etc. by orientating sufficiently and highly the magnetic powder using it.
SOLUTION : The composition for use in resin-bonded type magnets containing mainly (A) a magnetic powder containing in the constitutional elements a rare-earth element and a transition metal element and (B) a resin binder, is characterized in that (A) the magnetic powder is surface-treated with an inorganic phosphoric acid or an inorganic phosphoric acid compound and then is surface-treated with a titanate-based coupling agent or an organic silane monomer and (B) the resin binder comprises as the principal component (B-1) a radically polymerizable, thermosetting resin containing (B-2) an organic peroxide and besides (C) a photopolymerization initiator blended.
