PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a message sequence pattern detection method and an exchanger which are capable of collecting, storing the sequence pattern of messages which flow actually in or out without omission, and extracting only the message sequence of a semi-normal operation or a rare-case operation.
SOLUTION : The message names and transmission/receiving nodes of messages transmitted and received through a message receiving unit 1-1 and a message transmitting unit 1-3 are identified through a sequence pattern extracting unit 1-4, and it is judged whether the sequence patterns of the messages are learned in the past or not. When it is found that they are new patterns, they are stored as new sequence patterns in a new sequence pattern storing area 1-6. The sequence patterns of a semi-normal operation or a rare-case operation which are learned in the past but re-encountered are detected through a re-encounter pattern detection unit 1-5 on the basis of the ratio of the calls of each sequence to the total calls of all the sequence patterns, and the sequence information is stored in a re-encounter sequence pattern storing area 1-7.
