简介 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To produce an ammonia synthesizing catalyst capable of safely removing the anion or ligand of a noble metal compd. on activated carbon without requiring equipment to which a safety measure is applied or the number of persons for monitoring equipment causing an increase in catalyst producing cost. SOLUTION : Noble metal and alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or rare metal are carried on a carrier comprising activated carbon to prepare an ammonia synthesizing catalyst. The activated carbon carrier on which a noble metal compd. is carried is heat-treated in an inert gas atmosphere to fix the noble metal compd. on the carrier and the noble metal compd. carrying activated carbon is heated in a polyhydric alcohol soln. to remove the anion or ligand of the noble metal compd. on the carrier. In the process for fixing the noble metal compd. on the activated carbon carrier, the noble metal compd. supported activated carbon is heat-treated pref. at 100-450 deg.C for 1-3 hr or more in an inert gas atmosphere, for example, in a nitrogen atmosphere.
