PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a solid oxide fuel cell in which a stable open circuit voltage can be obtained under oxygen partial pressure and low-temperature condition, and its manufacturing method.
SOLUTION : The solid oxide fuel cell has a support made of a porous metal and a power generating element which is formed on a support and clips a solid electrolyte layer containing rare earth element doped ceria by an air electrode layer and a fuel electrode layer. The fuel cell has a reduction preventing layer between the solid electrolyte layer and the fuel electrode layer and the reduction preventing layer has a density more than the fuel electrode layer and a reduction resistance more than the solid electrolyte layer, and furthermore has one or both of oxide ion conductivity and electron conductivity. In the manufacturing method of the solid oxide fuel cell, the fuel electrode layer, reduction preventing layer, solid electrolyte layer or air electrode layer, and any of combinations of these layers are formed by sputtering method.
