PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To suppress fusion between a sintered compact and a sintering tool to each other or sintered compacts to each other at a low cost and to suppress the degradation in magnetic characteristics of a rare earth magnet.
SOLUTION : In the production method of the rare earth magnet by sintering a formed body of magnet raw material powder containing a rare earth element in the state of placing the formed body on the sintering tool, particles having oxide nuclei 1 containing oxides and surface layers 2 covering the surface of the oxide nuclei 1 and containing rare earth oxides are interposed between the sintering tool and the formed body. Also, in the production method of the rare earth magnet by sintering the formed bodies of the magnet raw material powder containing the rare earth element in the state of superposing the formed bodies on each other, the particles having the oxide nuclei 1 containing the oxides and the surface layers 2 covering the surface of the oxide nuclei 1 and containing the rare earth oxides are interposed between the formed bodies. The particles obtained by sintering the formed bodies containing the rare earth element using the oxide nuclei 1 alone as the spreading powder, and recovering the spreading powder after the sintering can be used for the particles. For example, the particles are recovered after the sintering and are recycled as the spreading powder.
