PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To obtain a refractory which is used as a refractory spray material by itself, gives a sufficient binding effect to an aggregate comprising inorganic powder and particles such as alumina, diatomaceous earth, gypsum, and perlite, and has good thermal insulating and sound-proofing effects by foaming.
SOLUTION : The inorganic binder is composed of a mixture prepared by adding a carbonate of an alkali or an alkaline-earth metal to an aqueous solution of aluminum phosphate, where the concentration of the aqueous solution of aluminum phosphate is 5-45 wt.%, a carbonate of an alkali or an alkaline-earth metal is mixed at a ratio of 5-120 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of aluminum phosphate, and pH of the mixture is in a range of 4-7.
