A ferritic stainless steel containing the following chemical elements (in weight percent) : Cr 14.0-20.0, Al 0.50-1.50, Zr 0.10-0.50, Si 0.30-1.50, Ti 0.10-0.35, Nb 0.25-0.55, C 9 (% C +% N) and the iron content is substantially 100. The steel may also contain yttrium and/or rare earth elements in a weight percentage of 0.10 to 0.30. The invention also includes products that can be manufactured using the steel of the invention, especially in vehicle emission manifold systems. FIG. (1) show that results of a cyclic oxidation t carried out at 1000. Degree. C. on a sample having a composition of one embodiment of the steel according to the invention. |
