PURPOSE : A perovskite complex oxide and a catalyst for purifying an exhaust gas using the same are provided to have an enhanced efficiency for removing a harmful gas component in a relatively low temperature region.
CONSTITUTION : The perovskite complex oxide has 30% or more of a ratio of a weight decrease at 50 to 180 deg.C to a weight decrease at 50 to 100 deg.C, measured by thermogravimetric analysis. The perovskite complex oxide comprises at least one rare earth element and at least one transition metal element. The perovskite complex oxide has a chemical formula represented by RTO3(wherein, R is at least one rare earth element and T is at least one transition metal element).
