PURPOSE : A cold cathode fluorescent lamp is provided to prevent ununiform brightness and obtain sufficient brightness when the cross section of the fluorescent lamp is defined using a long diameter and a short diameter. CONSTITUTION : A cold cathode fluorescent lamp(1) includes a fluorescent layer formed on the inner wall of a glass tube(2) filled with a rare gas and mercury and a pair of electrodes(3a, 3b) formatted at both sides of the glass tube. The cross section of a discharge space of the glass tube is defined using a long diameter and a short diameter. The long diameter is 1.2 to 14.0 mm and the short diameter is 0.7 to 10.0 mm. A mixture of neon and argon is injected into the glass tube as the rare gas under a pressure of 6.5 to 16kPa. © KIPO 2006 |
