Disclosed is an exhaust gas purification catalyst whose activity is hardly decreased even when it is used in an atmosphere of high temperature and high oxygen concentration. Specifically disclosed is an exhaust gas purification catalyst (1) containing a rare earth element, an alkaline earth element and a noble metal (13a). A part of the rare earth element and a part of the alkaline earth element form a complex oxide (12), and this complex oxide and a part of the noble metal form a solid solution. |
