PURPOSE : A hydrocarbon cracking catalyst capable of obtaining olefin and BTX in high yield when producing olefin such as ethylene, propylene, etc. and an aromatic compound such as BTX by cracking hydrocarbons and a method for preparing the hydrocarbon cracking catalyst are provided.
CONSTITUTION : A method for preparing a hydrocarbon cracking catalyst comprises : a step(a) of dissolving a metal hydrocarbon or organo-metallic material of which molecules have larger pores than those of zeolite as a support into an organic solvent; a step(b) of depositing a solution prepared in the step(a) on the surface of zeolite; and a step(c) of drying and calcining a zeolite catalyst prepared in the step(b). The hydrocarbon is selected from the group consisting of a paraffin based hydrocarbon, an olefin based hydrocarbon and an aromatic hydrocarbon having 4 to 10 carbon atoms. The metal hydrocarbon or organo-metallic material is a hydrocarbon or organic material of rare earth metals and alkali earth metals and is selected from the group consisting of lanthanum(III) 2-ethylhexanoate, calcium 2-ethylhexanoate, barium 2-ethylhexanoate, cerium 2-ethylhexanoate, yttrium 2-ethylhexanoate, strontium cyclo-hexane butylate and magnesium myristate.
