PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an exhaust gas cleaning material burnt approximately at the temperature of an exhaust gas without providing an additional heating means, and prevented from cracks or melting loss due to a high temperature generated by combustion of accumulated particulate for excellent thermal shock resistance, in the exhaust gas cleaning material for burning and cleaning the particulate in a diesel exhaust gas.
SOLUTION : The surface of a metal filter 1 carries an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst composed of an inorganic oxide, a rare earth oxide, an alkali metal sulfate, and a precious metal, so that the exhaust gas cleaning material having high thermal shock resistance and high combustion activity to the particulate is obtained.
