PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To prevent the reduction of magnetic properties while improving the strength of a molding and increasing a working yield in the method for producing a rare earth sintered magnet.
SOLUTION : The method for producing a rare earth sintered magnet comprises : a molding stage S2 where a magnetic field is applied to raw material alloy powder, and also, press molding is performed, so as to obtain a molding; a heat treating stage S3 where the molding is subjected to heat treatment; a working stage S4 where the heat-treated molding is subjected to machining; and a sintering stage S5 where the machined molding is sintered, and the treatment of the molding is performed in a nonoxidizing atmosphere from the heat treating stage S3 of performing heat treatment to the sintering stage S5 of performing sintering. Namely, the strength of the molding is increased by the heat treatment before the working, and it is discharged in the nonoxidizing atmosphere after the heat treatment, thus the reduction of its coercive force is prevented, and the working yield can be improved.
